UP CM forms SIT to probe hooch tragedy
Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said, “The opposition has been notifying the government about such activities, but they did not wake up as some of its leaders are involved. The truth is that without the backing of the government, such businesses cannot be carried out. The BJP should accept the fact that they cannot run the state.”

Media reports put the hooch death to 120 in UK and UP with dozen of alleged responsible for this tragedy arrested in last couple of days.
Making this tragedy campaign statement AICC general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday charged the BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the hooch tragedy, voicing “unimaginable” business of illegal liquor operated on such a large scale “under the patronage” of the state governments.
In lieu, of such direct calls the BJP CEO asked for Clean free investigation.
Uttar Pradesh government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the hooch tragedy claiming 45 lives in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the SIT to submit its report within 10 working days.
An official spokesman said, the SIT will be headed by Additional Director General of Police (Railways) Sanjay Singhal.
