We regret to inform you that as a result of the high-intensity earthquake that struck Nepal this morning, the PGTI, NPGA, NGA and the sponsors, have decided to postpone the Surya Nepal Masters 2015 golf tournament which was scheduled to be held at the Gokarna Golf Resort in Kathmandu, Nepal, from April 29 to May 2. The earthquake has caused widespread damage to life and property across Nepal, especially in Kathmandu. We at the PGTI extend our heart-felt condolences to all those who have lost their near and dear ones in this massive tragedy. Participating in the discussion, Bhupindar Yadav of the BJP demanded an impartial enquiry into the suicidal death of the Rajasthan farmer Gajendra Singh. He lauded the NDA government for revising the norms for providing compensation to the farmers. He said the government has provided more funds to irrigation to ensure better agriculture productivity. Naresh Agarwal of the Samajwadi Party alleged that the Centre could not provide timely relief to the drought-hit farmers across the country. Expressing concern over the plight of the farmers, Mr. Agarwal said the country should acknowledge the efforts of the farmers, who brought green revolution.
