They have been held by police since Thursday after being accused of stealing from two Malaysian and two Chinese victims. The two countries decided to scale up ties in key areas of investment and trade which has witnessed a huge surge from 4.2 billion dollar in 2003-04 to around 19.4 billion dollars in 2013-14. According to a joint statement issued after the meeting between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Singaporean counterpart K Shanmugam, the two leaders directed the officials to identify concrete projects in other areas of cooperation which include speeding up air and maritime connectivity and coastal development.
