PM should apologise to Ramdev: Koshiyari
Shimla, Jun 10 Former Uttarakhand chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari today said terming the police crackdown on yoga guru Ramdev and his followers as "unfortunate" was not enough and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh must apologise for the incident. Calling the police action at Ramlila Grounds as "undemocratic, brutal and attack on fundamental right at speech," Koshiyari said that it appeared that "emergency like conditions are back in the country".He said that Congress government had misused democracy by imposing Emergency on June 25, 1975 to crush the popular movement against "corruption" spearheaded by Jai Prakash Narayan and the present government was also resorting to similar tactics to silent the people raising voice against "corruption and black money". The Prime Minister should tender an apology from Ramdev and honour the fundamental rights of the people, he added.
