BJP demands probe in Chidambaram's role, meets CBI Director:2G

Five-member delegation led by party MP Prakash Javdekar-met-CBI Director A P Singh on Friday and demanded a probe into alleged role of the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G scam.Not a normal practice that the CBI Director meets members of political parties but on Friday he gave time to the five-member delegation led by party MP Prakash Javdekar. Javdekar, accompanied with fellow MPs Maya Singh, Shivakumar Udasi and BJP office bearers Bhupendra Yadav and Jagat Prasad Nadda, presented to him records received through RTI replies and other evidences which allegedly indicate that Chidambaram had sanctioned the policy for sale of spectrum.The delegation also demanded that the CBI should quantify the entire loss caused through the telecom spectrum allocation scam which CAG has put to be at around Rs 1.76 lakh crore. Talks between India & Pakistan to continue:Rabbani Khar

Talks with India to proceed as scheduled:Rabbani Khar Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar said Friday that relations with India would not be affected following the triple blasts in Mumbai and talks between Pakistan and Indian would continue as scheduled, Geo News reported. She made this statement while briefing the senate’s standing committee on foreign affairs. The meeting of the standing committee was held at the Parliament house and was chaired by Senator Saleem Saifullah. The standing committee was briefed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir and other officials. The standing committee directed the Foreign Ministry officials to ensure that dialogue with India be result oriented. On Thursday New Delhi said that talks between the foreign ministers of India and Pakistan would take place as planned at the end of July despite the triple blasts in Mumbai. Geo News

Solicitor General's resignation

Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium tendering his resignation over the appointment of a private counsel to appear for the govt in a 2G-related case in the Supreme Court. Moily, who was in Bangalore during the weekend, reached Delhi on Sunday night. Though there was no official word yet on the meeting, it is learnt that he discussed the issue with the Prime Minister.The Prime Minister is understood to have asked Subramanium not to press his resignation.

Kalka bound Express train derails in Fatehpur

Express Train met with accident of derailment & overlapping of thirteen bogies-including its engine of Delhi Howrah Kalka Express train as the emergency breaks were applied when train was traveling at the speed of more than 108 KMPH at Malwan railway station around,12-20-Noon near Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh,in northern India. Kalka Express train was coming from Howrah and had its final destination in New Delhi met with an accident Malwan,Fatehpur.Further reports of rescue is awaited.Gas cutters reached at site has rescued initially more than 100 passengers injured sent to hospital by private vehicles and ambulances.Five bogies are completely damaged and needs more gas cutters.At least five passengers were killed and more than 100 injured taken out sent to the hospital when Kalka-bound Howrah Kalka Express derailed near Malwan Railway Station in Fatehpur District of Uttar Pradesh. Quoting sources media reports, the engine, the pantry van and 10 boggies derailed at 12.15 p.m.
