The Prime Minister of Israel  added  2 new photos . 31 mins  ·  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara visited the British Library in London last night, where they were briefed on the library in general and two items in particular – the original Balfour Declaration, in which UK Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour declared that Britain would support the establishment of a national home for the Jewish People in the Land of Israel, and a book edited by the Prime Minister's father, the late Professor Ben-Zion Netanyahu. The latter w as a volume of Herzl's writings that the Prime Minister's father had edited in 1937 when he was only 27. The Prime Minister said that Herzl was a visionary and great leader and noted the link between him and the Balfour Declaration. 150 evacuated in NYC subway after train derails A train on the New York City Subway’s G line derailed north of the Hoyt Street Station in Downtown Brooklyn on Thursday, local media reports. As many as 150 passengers were on board the southbound train when the front wheels of the first carriage came off the track at 10:16 pm local time. All the passengers were evacuated, with only one person in need of medical attention, reportedly due to a panic attack. The authorities called the incident a “minor”  derailment. Key findings at global level: •          Legal gender differences are widespread: 155 of the 173 economies covered have at least one law impeding women’s economic opportunities. •          The total number of legal gender differences across 173 economies is 943. •          In 100 economies, women face gender-based job restrictions. •          46 of the economies covered have no laws specifically protecting women from domestic violence. •          In 18 economies, husbands can legally prevent their wives from working. •          Lower legal gender equality is associated

Chennai: MoUs for investments worth over Rs. 1 lakh crore to be signed Sep 10 The Global Investors Summit in Chennai draws to a close on Thursday, with investment proposals worth more than Rs. one lakh crore lined up for signing in presence of chief minister J.Jayalalithaa Thursday evening. She has pitched for more investments saying the industrial environment aided by the centre’s friendly policies is conducive for growth.
