Obama arrives in South Africa US President Barack Obama is visiting South Africa, where world media is focusing on the health of former president Nelson Mandela. Mandela, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for leading the struggle to abolish the apartheid system, had a recurrence of lung infection earlier this month and is in critical condition in hospital.

Obama arrived in Pretoria on Friday on the second leg of a tour of 3 African countries. He was cautious about visiting Mandela in hospital. En route to South Africa, Obama said the last thing he wants to do is to be in any way obtrusive to Mandela's family.

Como cierre de la exposición que sobre el mundo Maya hemos mostrado los pasados meses de mayoy junio, la profesora Dutt ofrecerá una conferencia sobre la figura de los caciques Mayas que dominaron la península del Yucatán a finales del periodo colonial. Por otro lado acogeremos, en colaboración con la Embajada de España en India y la universidad de Ahmedabad, el lanzamiento del taller que sobre turismo y gestión del patrimonio tendrá lugar en la Universidad de Valladolid el próximo otoño. Con este motivo inauguraremos la muestra "Anales de la reinvención. Descubriendo Ahmedabad".  Además, a lo largo de todo el mes mostraremos, por primera vez en India, un ciclo de cine boliviano.
