In Syria today, there are 15 besieged areas where up to 700,000 people, including an estimated 300,000 children, still remain trapped. Nearly five million people, including more than two million children, live in areas that are extremely difficult to reach with humanitarian assistance due to fighting, insecurity and restricted access. Damian Naicker & Sagar Raghuvanshi hold joint first round lead in Pre Qualifying II January 13, 2017 Kensville Golf & Country Club, Ahmedabad, January 13, 2017: South African Damian Naicker and Pune’s Sagar Raghuvanshi shot matching scores of two-under-70 to be the joint leaders in round one of the PGTI’s Pre Qualifying II for the 2017 season being held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club near Ahmedabad. While Naicker drained five birdies and three bogeys in his opening round, Raghuvanshi came up with four birdies and two bogeys. The duo enjoyed a three-shot lead over the rest of the field. The six golfers bunched together in tied third with scores of one-over-73 were, SNGLV Raju, Bhoop Singh, M Nazir Ali, Ramesh Kumar, Suleman Ali and Shubham Narain. Chhattisgarh and Telangana women make final four along with Punjab men January 12, 2017 Puducherry, 12 th January 2017: Quarterfinal action began on Day 6 of the 67 th Senior National Basketball Championship here at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Puducherry. The first result was no surprise as Chhattisgarh booked a semi-final berth winning their game against Delhi. Poonam Chaturvedi put up another MVP type performance with 60 points in the game. Chhattisgarh’s strategy was simple – put the ball in Poonam’s hands in the post and she took care of the rest. Delhi was unable to contain the Chhattisgarh centre and fell to a 99-67 loss. Delhi captain Raspreet Sidhu put up 27 points. Earlier in the day, on the outdoor courts, the Madhya Pradesh women’s team qualified for the quarterfinals with a tight win against Rajasthan (77-74).
