Vows to make Delhi safe and corruption free in five years 14 02 2015 Feb 14 Aam Aadmi Chief Arvind Kejriwal was today sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Lt Governor Najeeb Jung administered him the oath of office and secrecy at Ramlila Maidan. Six other Aam Aadmi Party leaders – Manish Sisodia, Asim Ahmed Khan, Sandeep Kumar, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai and Jitender Singh Tomar were also sworn-in as ministers. President Pranab Mukherjee Friday night appointed Mr Kejriwal as Chief Minister of Delhi with effect from the date he is sworn-in. A Home Ministry statement said, the President also signed an order to revoke Central rule in Delhi from today. AAP sources said, Mr Kejriwal is expected to keep the key portfolios of Home, Power and Finance with himself, while giving Education, PWD and Urban Development to his confidante Manish Sisodia, who will also be the Deputy Chief Minister. BJP, PDP close to seal deal on J&K govt formation BJP leader Ram Madhav has said that talks with PDP over the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir is in progress. Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, he said the two parties are working on a common minimum programme and will soon be able to reach a consensus to form government in the state. He said there are some issues on which common understanding between the BJP and the PDP is yet to arrive.

PM Sheikh Hasina rejects talks Feb 12 Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has rejected calls for talks, and said her government would sue BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for instigating, patronising and financing the on-going violence in the country which has left over 60 people dead. Describing the arson and killings as not politics but terrorism, Hasina said all measures would be taken to try those involved in fire-bombing and arson. The Law Minister has already been asked to set up a speedy trial course for the purpose. On a visit to the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where most victims are being treated, she also warned civil society members who make provocative and instigating remarks on television talk-shows. Meanwhile the garment industry, transport owners, bankers and insurers have decided to go on a hunger strike on Saturday demanding an end to the political unrest inflicting great damage to their businesses.

Mukesh Kumar consolidates in round two of The Hemisphere PGTI Masters, leads by three shots Noida, February 11, 2015:  Mukesh Kumar of Mhow shot a five-under-67 to be the sole leader in round two of The Hemisphere PGTI Masters being played at the Noida Golf Course. Mukesh totaled nine-under-135 at the halfway stage to lead by three shots. Noida’s Amardip Sinh Malik was placed second at six-under-138. The cut was declared at four-over-148. Fifty-eight professionals made the cut. The seasoned Mukesh Kumar (68-67), a winner of over 110 titles including 15 on the PGTI, started the day on a positive note as he birdied the first. The overnight joint leader gathered steam with a chip-in from the bunker for another birdie on the fourth.
