National School of Drama brings yet another milestone theatre experience

to promote North-Eastern theatre with National Poorvottar Rang Utsav

·         The theatre festival will start from 26 November in New Delhi, will travel to Jammu, Amritsar & Bengaluru

New Delhi, November 24, 2016: National School of Drama is bringing back to back theatre experience to its theatre lovers. Just after Jashne Bachpan, National School of Drama will organize National Poorvottar Rang Utsav in four cities to promote and popularize north-eastern theatre nationally. The idea behind the National Poorvottar Rang Utsav is to showcase theatre excellence that the north eastern theatre practitioners possess. 

The five days theatre festival, National Poorvottar Rang Utsav will start in New Delhi (26 -30 Nov)  and travel to Jammu ( 28 Nov – 2 Dec), Amritsar (1 Dec- 4 Dec) and Bengaluru (2 Dec – 6 Dec).

Five plays from Sikkim, Assam, Manipur will performed at Abhimanch, NSD from 6.30pm onwards. Entry to the festival will be free. Children less than eight years will not be allowed. Seat cards have been issued at the NSD Reception from 24 Nov 2016 onwards between 11.00 am to 1.00pm and 2pm to 4pm on first come first served basis.

27 Nov, 2016: Life Canvas, playwright & director – Asim Kumar Nath, group – Sarsa, language – Assamese, duration- 1 hr

28 Nov, 2016: Amamba Leibaki Mathong Huktaba Ningthouplaywright – Bharatendu Harishchandra, director – Pukhrambam Khogendro Singh, group – Deal Repertory Theatre, language – Manipuri, duration – 1hr 15mins

29 Nov, 2016: Naworplaywright – Manoj Kumar Deoraja, director – Sahidul Haque, group – Tiwa Bhakha – Sanskriti Charcha Samittee, language – Tiwa, duration – 1 hr 15 mins

30 Nov, 2016: Nongban Souraplaywright  & director – Loitongbam Paringanba, group – Imphal Theatre, language – Manipuri, duration – 1hr 10mins
