The judgement which be affecting 80% SC/ST/OBC population:Sharad
In the meeting of the Leaders of Political Parties in Parliament held yesterday the 1st August, 2013, the recent judgment of constitutional bench of Supreme Court (faculty association of AIIMS vs. union of India) against the reservation policy for SC/ST/OBC was raised and discussed. All the party leaders were shocked and showed their deep anguish against this judgment. All were of the opinion that the Government should take all necessary steps immediately so that 80 % population of this country should not at all be affected by this judgment. The parties were very much concerned and were of the view that it has become practice by the judiciary to give such sensitive judgments in hurry and without hearing all parties properly. These anti reservation judgments are often delivered during sensitive time. When the country is passing through a difficult period, such sensitive judgements should not have been given which may cause uproar in the country. If this judgment is implemented then reservation will only be applicable in group C & D posts and will be practically scraped at all higher levels. All leaders in the meeting were of the unanimous view that unless this matter is solved before ensuring session of Parliament, the functioning of the session of Parliament would be difficult. The judgement which will be affecting 80% SC/ST/OBC population of this country, all MPs of the deprived section of the Society will raise their voice in the Parliament and other Politicians and social workers outside Parliament who are fighting for social justice. It was further stated by all Leaders in the meeting that this is a very dangerous anti SC/ST/OBC movement in the country since the independence. It was consented by all leaders that if the Government does not have any immediate amicable solution before this session of Parliament, the Government should come with Constitutional Amendment Bill in this regard so that the above judgement is completely nullified. Further, it was discussed that the Government should get this judgement stayed immediately so that the functioning of the ensuing
session of Parliament is not disturbed. I am sure that all MP’s of both the Houses who have been fighting for centuries for social justice in the country would understand the gravity of the above judgement and would not allow the Houses to function in the coming session of Parliament.
I would like to thank all leaders of various parties who have supported me for social cause against this judgment. Further, my Party has cautioned and advised the Government to resolve this matter at the earliest for social justice in the country, and also in the interest of functioning of the ensuing session of Parliament.
