El tango es un género musical tradicional de Argentina y Uruguay, nacido de la fusión cultural entre inmigrantes europeos (españoles e italianos, principalmente), descendientes de esclavos africanos, y nativos de la región del Río de la Plata. Musicalmente suele tener forma binaria (tema y estribillo) o ternaria (dos partes a las que se agrega un trío). Muchas de las letras de sus canciones están compuestas basándose en un argot local llamado lunfardo, letras que suelen expresar las tristezas, especialmente «en las cosas del amor», que sienten los hombres y las mujeres de pueblo, sin que ello sea obstáculo a la inclusión de oras, incluso humorísticas y políticas. Desde 2009 forma parte de la lista de Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad aprobado por UNESCO.

Many of the lyrics of their songs are written on a local slang called lunfardo, and the lyrics often express sadness, especially regarding of the matter of love felt by men and women, without that hindering the treatment of other issues, even humorous and political. Ciclo de cine boliviano: "Cuestión de fe"Trata de una imagen sagrada que debe ser trasladada por encargo desde una región altiplánica hacia el Oriente del país. Durante el viaje, la Virgen es robada en uno de los pueblos de las regiones andinas y llevada a la región de los Yungas, los protagonistas tratan de recuperar la imagen sagrada, pero al final llegan a un acuerdo con los pobladores en los Yungas y la imagen se queda en un pueblo de dicha región.
