DELHi2050 team- The signing of MoU India & Netherlands
Date; 14 May 2013

DELHi2050 team warmly welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between India and The Netherlands on 14 May in The Hague, The Netherlands.
In the presence of Indian Union Minister of Urban Development Kamal Nath, and Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment Melanie Schultz van Haegen the MoU is signed.
The MoU is a spin-off of the DELHi2050 initiative, started by arch i platform at the end of 2010, to fundamentally rethink future urban scenarios for the capital city of India.
Although there is no budget allocated for this MoU, we are very happy with this ‘blessing’ of the Indian Government for long term thinking regarding the theme ‘Making City’.
The DELHi2050 team recently launched the interactive website www.delhi2050.com. The website is an online platform for both the Indian and international audiences, to share information, maps, and facts and figures about the city of Delhi. Through polls, interactive maps, simple graphics and discussion forums, the website raises pertinent questions to stimulate the thinking process as well gather data and public opinion, particularly involving the young generation.
With our Indian partners Outokumpu India Pvt. Ltd  and Ambuja Cement Ltd  we have successfully embarked on the DELHi2050 Knowledge Tour at the Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jamia Millia Islamia Geography Dep. and we will now travel to the School of Planning and Architecture and National Institute of Disaster Management in the coming weeks and look forward to welcome two experts from the Netherlands to India for the Knowledge Tour; Rianne Makkink and Matthijs Bouw.
The feedback collected from the website and knowledge tour will be consolidated and presented at a public event in June 2013.
