Nation  remembers Baba Saheb on his 121st birth anniversary

Nation is celebrating the 121st birth anniversary of the architect of the constitution of India, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on Saturday.

Several commemorative functions are being held across the nation to mark the occasion.
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, UPA Chariperson Sonia Gandhi, Senior BJP leader LK Advani and other dignitaries paid floral tributes at his statute at the Parliament House. Tributes were also paid at the Central hall of the Parliament.
A jurist, political leader, philosopher, thinker, historian and prolific writer, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar  spent his whole life fighting against social discrimination and caste system. He was the chairman of the constitution drafting committee and the first Law minister of Independent India.
Ambedkar was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna in 1990.
