TRIPLE RECOGNITION FOR TUNE HOTELS
TRIPLE RECOGNITION FOR TUNE HOTELS
Penang, Hat Yai and Bali hotels come out tops
KUALA LUMPUR, 3 February 2012
– Tune Hotels continues its winning streak in the New Year of the
Dragon by earning recognitions for its hotels in Penang, Malaysia; Hat
Yai, Thailand; and Bali, Indonesia.
The
world’s largest travel website TripAdvisor, in its Travelers’ Choice
Awards 2012, has ranked Tune Hotel Downtown Penang as among the Top 25
Bargain Hotels in Malaysia, alongside globally-renowned brands like
Shangri-La, Hilton, Sheraton and Traders, among others. The rating was
based on reviews by travellers who have stayed at those hotels.
On
top of that, Trip Advisor also ranked Tune Hotel Hat Yai that was just
opened in December as the number one hotel in the city.
Meanwhile
Tune Hotel Double Six in Legian, Bali was awarded The Best Hotel &
Service Excellence of the Year by the Indonesian Quality and Service
Excellence Tourism Awards during a ceremony in Bali recently. Winners of
the award will be in the running for the annual “Indonesia Top 100
Awards” that will be announced in Jakarta in December 2012. The Awards
is supported by the Indonesian Government and the Indonesian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.
Mark
Lankester, Group CEO of Tune Hotels said: “This is really a triple joy
for Tune Hotels. To be rated among 25 best bargain hotels in Malaysia is
a real honour for us, not to mention the league of top-rated hotels
that we’re grouped together with. This is just what Tune Hotels is all
about – giving you great value, great savings.”
“This
is really awesome and we are truly proud. The award by TripAdvisor is
an industry recognition and what’s more important is that it is based on
feedback from our most important stakeholders – our guests. Tune Hotel
Downtown Penang has set a very high standard that we will use as
benchmark across the Tune Hotels network.”
Located
at Jalan Burmah right in the heart of the UNESCO heritage city of
George Town, the 222-room Tune Hotel Downtown Penang was opened on 1
April 2009 and is the largest among its existing hotels in the network.
Tune
Hotel Downtown Penang is the second of its hotels to receive a
significant award from TripAdvisor, after Tune Hotel Westminster in
London that was awarded certificate of excellence last year, as a
“result of consistently great feedback” from hotel guests.
“We
are pleasantly surprised that in its current hotel reviews, Trip
Advisor has also ranked the month-old Tune Hotel Hat Yai as the number
one hotel in the Southern Thailand city. This is such a fantastic
achievement,” he added.
On
the award for Tune Hotel Double Six Legian, Mark said: “The Indonesian
accolade reinforces our position as among the top brands in the country
and we hope to excel at the Indonesia Top 100 Awards later. Although we
have only two hotels in Bali, our service standards and quality must
have left a highly positive impact on many Indonesian guests and foreign
travelers there.”
Tune
Hotels was last year ranked ninth among the Top 20 Innovative Brands
2011 in Indonesia by MIX magazine, a leading marketing communications
magazine. Tune Hotels was the only hotel brand on the list, alongside
global leading brands such as BlackBerry, Tupperware, Nissan, 7-Eleven
and Pizza Hut.
Kicking
off Tune Hotels’ list of accolades for 2012 was the Most Promising
Brand award that it received from the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation at
the Brand Laureate - SMEs Best Brands Awards 2011 in Kuala Lumpur
recently.
“We
attribute all these achievements to our loyal and new guests who have
embraced the accommodation concept and model pioneered by Tune Hotels,
making it a global phenomenon. When we first started, we did not imagine
that Tune Hotels would be such a successful brand that takes the world
by storm.”
Tune
Hotels has received over three million guests since the opening of its
first hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur in 2007. Tune Hotels currently
