Poll cash seized in UP
Uttar Pradesh, more than 14 crore rupees allegedly meant for election
purposes, have been seized till now by the surveillance teams deployed
to check misuse of money power to influence election process.
Lucknow correspondent reports that more than 4 crore rupees has been seized on Monday in Ghaziabad , Lucknow , Kanpur , Lakhimpur Kheri, Mathura , Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar and Prabuddha Nagar districts.
Enforcement agencies have also recovered more than one lakh litres of illegal and country liquor from different districts. Several persons have also been arrested in this regard. Teams of officials have been deployed to check transportation of liquor from neighbouring states.
He said that several illegal factories for preparation of country liquor have been unearthed in many districts. He said that state Excise department and police have launched joint drive against illegal transportation and production of liquor across the state.
