Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the visiting Chilean President Dr. Michelle Bachele on Tuesday will ink agreement for protection of mutual investments and air cargo are in the final stages.The Ambassador of Chile in India Mr. Manual Cardenas said in New Delhi that discussions with the Indian leaders on establishing a free trade area and strengthening economic cooperation is high on the agenda.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet arrived in New Delhi on a five-day visit to India during which she will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the Forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.The visiting President will hold talks with President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to further expand the 60-year-old relations between the two countries.

She will also hold discussions with the President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and the Vice president Mohd Hamid Ansari. The External Affairs Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and the Leader of Opposition Mr.L K Advani will also call on the visiting dignitary. During her stay she will also visit Agra, Mumbai, and Chennai. AIR correspondent reports that the bilateral trade between India and Chile was over 200 crores last fiscal and it is poised to reach 500 crores .
