Eight Oscars to slumdog millionaire

Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles for this year's Oscars venue.Shinning star of the Oscar is "Slumdog Millionaire" on top of race at the 81st Annual Academy Awards stole the show with eight oscars out of ten nomination.

Best Sound Mixing: Ian Tapp, Resul Pookutty for Slumdog Millionaire sound team collect the film's third Oscar of the evening with the film's superb visuals matched with its accoustic best dizzying sounds, film deserves.

The fourth Oscar to SM editing chief Chris Dickens collects the best film editing award.

Dustin Lance Black won the "Best Original Screenplay" award for "Milk".Kate Winslet, best actress for the Holocaust themed drama "The Reader"; Sean Penn, best actor for the title role of "Milk"; Heath Ledger, supporting actor for "The Dark Knight".

British scriptwriter Simon Beaufoy fetched the first Oscar in the Best Adapted Screenplay category for "Slumdog Millionaire", based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup's novel "Q and A"."It is a tremendous honour. I thank Vikas Swarup, without him 'Slumdog' would not have happened, thanks Vikas Swarup," said Beaufoy while accepting the golden statuette."Thank you Dev, thank you Latika and the entire cast and crew of Slumdog," Beaufoy said.

The scriptwriter has already bagged the Golden Globe and BAFTA for "Slumdog Millionaire"."I learnt a lot about life," said Beaufoy about his India experience.This is a first Oscar for Beaufoy, who was earlier nominated in 1997 in the Original Screenplay Category for the film "Full Monty".

Oscar has two Indian documentaries "Smile Pinki" and "The Final Inch", are also in the Oscar race in Documentary (Short) category along with the presence of three Indian child actors,Azharuddin and Rubina of "Slumdog Millionaire" and Pinki Sonkar of "Smile Pinki" at the Oscars.
