Pakistan General Pervez Musharaff has imposed emergency on 3 Nov,abrogated the constitution replacing with provisional constitution order.Supreme court Judges who refused to take oath under PCO were put under house arrest.Political, judiciary,media when tried to put up public protest, they were put under either house arrest or sent to prison.

(live-PR.com) - General Pervez Musharaff in an interview to the British TV channel has flouted the media charges that he is a dictator and added that he wants to restore democracy.Musharraf said he had considered to resign his position but now felt he was the man to lead Pakistan into democracy.

His words authenticity needs no proof as the military ruler declared a state of emergency on November 3 , abrogated the constitution. He has since detained thousands of opposition, politicians, activists and lawyers.His acts of continued house arrest of Leaders, Politicians,judges,social activist undertaking long march from Lahore to Islamabad. address a student gathering by Generals police.

His actions have been widely condemned by Western governments which are urging him to end military rule and move towards democracy with free and fair elections next January.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab president, Shah Mahmood Quraishi along with several of his associates have been arrested, while leading a PPP motorcade from Okara, he was addressing a press conference at the residence of MPA Raja Riaz here.

A heavy contingent of police had laid siege around the residence and following the press conference, when Shah Mahmood came out, the police arrested him besides five local leaders and six workers accompanying him.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was arrested here Wednesday after he emerged from hiding for the first time since emergency rule was imposed.

Khan appeared at Punjab University in Lahore ahead of a planned protest against President Pervez Musharraf and was immediately pushed inside a campus building by a crowd of students.

However, a student organization has reportedly locked Imran Khan in a room at the Punjab University demanding of Imran to leave the university at the earliest.
