India, Belgium agree to enhance cooperation in Renewable Energy 27 11 2013 India and Belgium have agreed to work on signing an MOU to enhance cooperation in renewable energy. This was discussed at a bilateral meeting between Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Government of India and Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium. Princess Astrid is currently visiting India as head of the Belgian Economic Mission to India. She is accompanied by Mr. Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs and Mr. Kris Peeters, President of the Region of Flanders and Flemish Minister for Economic, Foreign Policy along with a large business delegation. Dr. Abdullah briefed the visiting delegation on the energy situation in India and the rapid growth of the renewable energy sector in India. ICRA sees Q2 GDP growth at 4.6 pc Updated on : 25-11-2013 09:26 PM The economy may have grown 4.6 percent in the second quarter of the fiscal driven by higher industrial growth and pick-up in exports, rating agency ICRA said. "The GDP growth would have improved to 4.6 per cent in Q2 from 4.4 per cent in Q1, with a pick-up in the performance of industry at around 2.3 per cent from 0.2 per cent and agriculture at near 3.5 per cent from 2.7 per cent, which could have offset the slowdown in the services sector," Icra said in a report on Monday. The report said IIP numbers indicate a mild improvement in the performance of the manufacturing and mining and quarrying sectors in Q2 compared to the previous quarter. The global survey of leading consultancy firm EY has ranked India as the most attractive investment destination followed by Brazil and China at second and third positions, respectively.
