Naresh -Hit the road for Hillary!

Naresh —
We’re officially heading into the final sprint towards Election Day, so we’re making every investment we can in the key states that will deliver Hillary a historic victory this fall.
At this point, there is nothing more important than building the ground game — organizers, offices, and volunteers — because without those states pulling the lever for Hillary, we don’t have a viable road to the White House. But every door knocked and every voter registered gets us a little bit closer to that goal.
That’s why I’m reaching out to you.
Right now we’re assembling a team of our best supporters who would be willing to get on the road and volunteer for a day or weekend in a pivotal state. Naresh, can we add your name to this list? We’re working on this plan as we speak, and it’s only going to work if we have every pair of hands on deck.
You’ve been with Hillary every step of this campaign, and each time you’ve chipped in, volunteered for a shift, or stood with her at a critical moment, we’ve noticed. Literally nothing up until now would have been possible without you, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
That’s why we know you would be perfect for this next part of the race, when we shift to turning out every possible vote for Hillary. You’ll be a part of the team that is going the extra mile — or maybe a few more than that! — to make sure we take a giant leap forward as a nation when the final votes are cast on November 8th. You can be a more integral part of making that history.
Let us know today, Naresh, if we can count on you to be on this essential crew of supporters. It could mean all the difference as we wage the fight of our lives:

Thanks so much,
Lauren

Barack Obama cuts short the sentences of 111 federal inmates

US President Barack Obama has cut short the sentences of 111 federal inmates, in another round of commutations for those convicted of nonviolent drug offences. Earlier this month, 214 federal inmates were granted commutation.
Mr Obama has long called for phasing out strict sentences for drug convictions. White House Counsel, Neil Eggleston yesterday said, the commutations underscored the President’s commitment to using his clemency authority to give deserving individuals a second chance. He said that Mr Obama has granted a total of 673 commutations, more than the previous 10 Presidents combined.
In 1980, the federal prison population was less than 25,000. Now, according to US Federal Bureau of Prisons, there are more than one lakh 93 thousnads federal inmates.

John Kerry to meet PM Modi today

US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi today. Earlier, India and the United States agreed to tackle the challenges of terrorism and strengthen intelligence sharing mechanism. Addressing a joint press conference with Mr Kerry after US-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, nations must not act as sanctuaries and safe havens for terrorist organisations. She apprised Mr Kerry of cross border terrorism by Pakistan and categorically said that there are no good or bad terrorists.
Mrs Swaraj said, Pakistan should withdraw safe havens provided to LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammad and D-Company. Mrs Swaraj said, she and Mr Kerry agreed that Pakistan needs to book perpetrators of 2008 Mumbai terror attack and 2016 Pathankot airbase attack. She also thanked Secretary Kerry for United States’s constant support for India’s membership in Nuclear Suppliers Group.
Mr Kerry said, there cannot be distinction between good and bad terrorists as terror is terror no matter where it emanates from or who carries it out. Saying that Pakistan must act against terrorists in its territory, he said, US will continue to support all efforts to bring the perpetrators of 2008 Mumbai and 2016 Pathankot attacks to justice.
Briefing media, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, that Government has launched a transparent Government e-market place, developed by Directorate General of Supplies and Disposal. She said, both countries have agreed to look at best practices exchange. US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker said that she will look into India’s concerns over the hike in visa fee for professionals.

John Kerry:Appeals all nations to unitedly fight against terrorism

US Secretary of State John Kerry said, terror groups and extremism cannot be fought by one nation and all countries have to confront the menace together. Interacting with the students of IIT Delhi this morning, both India and US know the pain of terrorism and it is important to strike its root cause. He said, security threat is the biggest challenge.
Speaking on the Indo-US relationship, the Secretary of State said, in recent years, trade between the two nations has doubled and Washington is now New Delhi’s top export market. He said, both countries worked together in Nepal during the devastating earthquake, evacuated the people trapped in war-torn Yemen and trained peace-keepers in Africa.
Talking on India, John Kerry said, India is an established power and is playing a crucial role in the world today. He said, India is an essential partner and the US has welcomed its rise. Both countries are the two largest democracies in the world bound with common values for tolerance, equality, respect of religious pluralism and peace.
Replying to a query on India’s bid for permanent UNSC seat, Mr Kerry said, there is a way but it is a bit complicated. On Pakistan, Mr Kerry said, it is clear that there is work to do for Pakistan to push harder against sanctuaries of terror.
He said, polarization anywhere in the world is not good as it reflects intolerance and frustration. He said, relationship between India and the US is not just only important for the two democracies but also for the rest of the world. Hes said, relationship between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi built on sense of common purpose.
