Tymoshenko Elected Prime Minister Ukraine

Yatsenyuk's candidacy was put forth by the factions of Yulia Tymoshenko's Bloc and the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc. The two parties formed a majority coalition in parliament on Nov. 29. Tymoshenko required minimum of 226 votes in the Supreme Rada of total 450 members, She attained all 156 members of her eponymous bloc in support of her nomination from the coalition of eponymous bloc and all but two of the 70 member pro-presidential Our Ukraine party. Around 25cm of snow fell across parts of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Forecasters warned that around 14ins of snow would fall in parts of New England. Lawmakers changed voting procedures Friday after the flamboyant pro-Western Tymoshenko narrowly failed by a single vote to get backing for her appointment first time on December 11. Two votes were held, with Tymoshenko both times receiving 225 votes, one short of the 226 required. The coalition blamed technical malfunctions. "Most MPs met the Party of Regions halfway and decided to consider the premier's candidacy Tuesday," Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk said. Russia begins construction of fifth-generation fighter MOSCOW, December 12 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's defense industry has started the construction of a prototype of a fifth-generation combat aircraft, the Air Force commander said Wednesday. A Russian-Indian advanced multirole fighter is being developed by Sukhoi, which is part of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), and India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, under an intergovernmental agreement signed in October. "At present, we have prepared detailed work design documentation for the fifth-generation aircraft," Colonel General Alexander Zelin said.
